Hello!

I'm an Early Years educator, leader, trainer and writer with over 16 years' experience working across the sector.

My career has included leadership roles in schools, supporting Early Years practice as an adviser, delivering professional development and working with practitioners and settings across the country.

I created Early Years on a Shoestring in 2020 as a space to share ideas, inspiration and practical approaches to Early Years practice.

What began as an Instagram account has grown into a community of educators who are passionate about creating meaningful, thoughtful and inspiring experiences for children.

I'm particularly interested in the relationship between pedagogy, environments and practice and in helping practitioners think beyond what they are doing and explore why.

My work is grounded in the belief that great Early Years practice doesn't have to mean spending more but instead being thoughtful, curious, creative and responsive to the children in front of us.

Looking ahead

I'm now developing The Early Years Academy — a new space bringing together professional learning, ideas, resources and community for Early Years educators.
